"Spillway"
地元、東京の川の水と土を使って、写真との間に化学反応を起こすことで、物質そのものが持つ温度、成分により抽象的なイメージを作り出した。
私の祖父は戦後から江戸川区の川の近くに住み、以後家族は川の近くで生活している。祖父が生前撮りためたアルバムの写真と、両親、私が撮影した写真を、被写体の川水と反応させることで、記憶の層を表現した。
作品はアーツカウンシル東京が主催するSTART boxに選出され、アトリエで制作と展示を行った。
Using water and soil from a river in my hometown of Tokyo, I created an abstract image by creating a chemical reaction between the photo and the material itself, depending on the temperature and composition of the material. My grandfather began his life near a river in Edogawa Ward after the war, and my family has lived near the river ever since. I expressed the layers of memory by making the photographs in the album my grandfather kept during his lifetime, as well as those taken by my parents and myself, react with the river water that was the subject of the work.
The work was selected for the START box organized by Arts Council Tokyo, and was produced and exhibited at the atelier.
